General Discussion
In a world that often demands our silence, Mercy speaks volumes. This isn’t just a collection of words—it’s an act of reclamation. Of self. Of memory. Of power.
Mercy is born out of the extremes. The extremes of being Black in America. The extremes of survival. The extremes of unyielding love for a culture that has constantly been fractured, forgotten, and yet—always fought for. With this project, I’m weaving together the voices of over 10,000 Black Americans, collecting a lexicon shaped by pain, brilliance, resilience, and legacy.
What does Black excellence actually entail? Not just a degree. Not just success. Not just survival.Black excellence is the radical act of remembering. It’s the fire that doesn’t go out even when they try to smother the flame. It's the way our language bends, the way we show out even when we’re told to shrink, and the way we make art out of affliction.
As a Black man, I won’t water this down for comfort.I am an extremist when it comes to my people. An extremist in preserving the depth of our story—from the chains that tried to shatter us to the crowns we still wear today. This collection—Mercy—doesn’t plead for forgiveness. It asserts our grace. Our power. Our unfiltered truth.
The words you’ll see and feel in this collection aren’t sanitized for your comfort. They carry the brainwashing we’ve dismantled, the torture we’ve overcome, and the pride we’ve redefined.Every single entry is curated from truth—raw, personal, and alive.
📊 Join the Movement – Participate in the Mercy Poll
As part of this journey, I’m launching an interactive poll that dives deeper into what words resonate with your experience, your heritage, your truth. This poll isn’t just data collection—it’s documentation. It’s participation. It’s your voice woven into the tapestry of Black reality.
💬 The results of this poll will be broadcasted live on [insert your platform/channel here]—a collective moment where we listen to ourselves and amplify each other.
You don’t just get to witness Mercy—you get to shape it.
Because mercy was never weakness.
It’s the echo of our grace, even after the world tried to erase us.And we’re still here. Dressed in power, spoken in truth, written in fire.
Let me know if you’d like to include links to the poll or add visuals or quotes to go with it. Also, if Mercy will have a visual identity or a fashion tie-in, we can weave that in next.
